Thank You to our Volunteers

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time last Friday to ensure our Open Classrooms and Welcome Back BBQ were a great success. It was lovely to see so many people visiting classrooms, browsing in the new library space and socialising in the quadrangle.  A special thanks to the Green Team who once again ensured our environmental footprint for this event was significantly reduced from previous years.

TPSA Elections

A reminder that the positions of Taroona Primary School Association Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are up for election at our March 10th Annual General Meeting.  If you are keen to nominate for one of these positions, please complete the nomination form and drop it into the office as soon as possible.

Clean Up Australia Day @ TPS 2nd March

On March 2nd our school will be participating in the annual event, Clean Up Australia Day. Classes will spend 10 minutes or so cleaning up their adopt-a-patch area, with all rubbish sorted and recorded.

Families can assist our school in reducing the waste we produce each day by providing nude food lunchboxes and eliminating plastic and wrappers from our school environment.  This is especially important given how close our school is located to the Derwent river.

We have collected data for the past 3 years, so it will be interesting to see what this year’s data looks like in comparison to previous years!

Best wishes

Danielle Bresnehan

SUSHI FRIDAY VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR 2020!

We are seeking 2-3 volunteers to join our sushi packing roster on Friday mornings in 2020 commencing in Term 1. This is a fun and easy task requiring around 1 hour from 9-10 am. Volunteers are rostered subject to their specified availability e.g. once a fortnight or once every 4-6 weeks, whatever suits you! You work in pairs with another volunteer in the school staff room. A Working with Vulnerable People Check is essential. If you could do a buddy shift before the end of the year, that would be great also but if you cannot, we are happy to train you up at the start of Term 1.

If you are interested, please contact Tracey Turner on 0439 618 520 or yecartt@hotmail.com.
